MISS SOUTH INDIA 2019: Nikita THOMAS

The 17th edition of the Miss South India beauty contest came to an emphatic end as Nikita Thomas, hailing from Kerala was crowned at the event held at Hotel Le-Meridien, Coimbatore.
The beauty pageant promoted by Manappuram Finance Limited as the prime partner was hosted by Pegasus in association with Rotary Club of Coimbatore Texcity. Tarini Kalingarayar from Tamil Nadu and Deepa Thomas from Kerala was the first and second runner up respectively. Last year winner Lakshmi Menon crowned Nikita Thomas. ​

Can you describe briefly your journey in becoming Miss South India?
I have always dreamt about representing my nation internationally or in various platforms, so I took my first step by participating for Miss Kerala in 2018 but I came in top 6.
so my next step towards my goal was to participate in Miss South India, it was a journey of self-realisation and growth.
It was healthy competition and all the contestant were cordial to each other making the journey and experience more enriching.
2. Describe yourself in 3 words
Optimistic, Empathetic and always strive to do more.
3. What drew you to beauty pageantry?
I was first introduced to the charming world of pageantry in class 6, Ever since then I have been fascinated and had a dream to be part of the pageantry.
What inclines me most towards it is my passion for modelling and to influence people to do good.
Pageantry is a step towards fulfilling my passion.
4. What are the 2 things you learnt through their process?
Self-realisation and self-growth and also to help others grow with you.
5. What is your definition of success?
Becoming successful for yourself while helping others grow and become successful so all of us can achieve a better tomorrow.
6. Who is your role model?
My role model is my mother, she has been my constant inspiration who has taught me the right values of life.
7. What is your definition of “being beautiful”?
I believe that being beautiful isn’t just an external factor but having a good heart, conducting yourself well and most importantly how you treat others.
